Your neighbors need you: How to help if SNAP benefits end

Member News Chamber

With no resolution to the government shutdown in sight, food pantries and other supporting organizations across Guilford County are working together to get the word out about where people can go for help and how we can all do our part to help our neighbors.

Read and share the information below with all who can help—faith groups, neighborhoods, civic groups, social clubs, school groups, sports teams, and businesses. Please watch your email and our social media for more updates as this situation evolves.

Donate to an Emergency SNAP Fund: These funds will be used to fill gaps in pantry supplies and purchase items that typically aren't donated, such as baby food, meat, and dairy products. Greensboro and surrounding areas: Donate through the A Simple Gesture Emergency SNAP Fund

Volunteer: We'll need extra volunteers to pick up donated food and deliver it to food pantries and special food distributions Volunteer with A Simple Gesture.

Host a Virtual or On-site Food Drive: Virtual food drives are quick and convenient. View our Walmart Registry, place your order, and have your donations shipped directly to us. To host an on-site food drive, please go here Host a Food Drive

Prefer to drop off your donation? Bring your non-perishable food donations to A Simple Gesture 3503 Redington Dr. Greensboro, NC 27410 Our office is in a residential section behind Westminster Presbyterian Church. Look for the ASG yard sign. After-hours food drop offs may be left in the waterproof donation bins.

Be a Source of Reliable Information: Download the Greater Guilford Food Finder app and share it widely. Check on your friends and neighbors; you never know who might need help.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact A Simple Gesture at asimplegesturegso@gmail.com or 336-547-7000. We're all in this together.
