About

CapTel NC provides captioning access through services offered by the State of NC at no cost for people with hearing loss – including Relay Conference Captioning (RCC), CapTel (Captioned Telephone) and IP Relay.

Relay Conference Captioning (RCC) is provided by Relay North Carolina for those who have a hearing loss to actively participate in conference calls, virtual meetings or webinars while reading captions on an internet-connected laptop or mobile device!  Participants with hearing loss also can have the option of either speaking or typing to communicate with the other attendees.

The Captioned Telephone Service from CapTel North Carolina offers the ability for anyone with hearing loss to HEAR the other person and READ captions of everything that is being said during a telephone conversation.

The Internet-based (IP) Relay service allows people with hearing loss to use a browser window for dialing directions, call setup and phone conversations.  The IP relay operator types the other party’s spoken words to you. You can use any computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone to communicate with anyone using IP Relay service!

CapTel NC is available 24 hours a day to users at no charge. However, users are responsible for their long-distance charges.

We also offer Zoom webinars to learn about accessibility for people with haring loss. Sign up at www.captelnc.com/webinar.
