Job Overview
A level II(E) Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all electro-mechanical equipment at BAU and all projects requiring an electrician. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through effective maintenance and repair of equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various maintenance disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance.

Duties:

  • A level II(E) Maintenance Technician/Electrician must be able to perform maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical equipment unsupervised, unless physical assistance is necessary for the task.
  • A level II(E) technician/electrician must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose all electrical and electronic components used in manufacturing.
  • In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, a level II(E) Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

In addition, a level II(E) technician/electrician must be able to perform the following:

  • Troubleshoot contactor, relays, VFD Drives/Motors, solenoid banks.
  • Knowledge to safely work with voltages up to 480V.
  • Expert use of a multi-meter to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley and PLC panels and electrical cabinets for electrical/electronic faults.
  • Perform Electrical Preventive Maintenance such as, Arcflash analysis, grounding/bonding tests, thermal imaging to detect potential electrical problems.
  • Calibrate and setup pressure transducers/switches, temperature sensors, etc.
  • Working knowledge electrical and electro-mechanical systems used in manufacturing.
  • Install and replace electrical equipment such as: receptacles, breakers, ballasts, soft-starts and fixtures.
  • Proficiently read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints and circuit diagrams or schematics.
  • Own personal tools rated for electrical work.
  • Assist in new equipment installation such as control panel design, electrical connections and interfaces, risk assessment, teammate training, equipment testing and commissioning.
  • RS Logic 5000/Studio 5000, PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Other skills as required to advance.
  • Maintenance Technicians are required to wear FR rated uniforms. These will be provided for you by the company using our on-site uniform provider.

Position Requirements

Required:

  • High School Diploma, or 1-year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Electrical/Electronics Diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing to complete continuing education courses.
  • Must be able to provide adequate hand tools and storage for use on the job.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or graphical form.
  • Exceptional internal/external customer service skills.
  • Able to work with others on the team.
  • Able to work overtime, have flexible hours, and be on call 24 hours if needed.

Preferred:

  • 1. RS Logic 5000/Studio 5000 PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting experience or equivalent.
  • 2. Some experience working in an industrial, maintenance, factory or production setting.
